Following the state government’s go-ahead this year, China's first package printing industry base has been set up in Ehu Town, Xishan District, Jiangsu Taihu International Package Printing City (JTIPPC). Shi Wanpeng, President of both the Asian Packaging Federation (APF) and the China Packaging Federation (CPF), as well as leaders from the municipal government, attended the opening ceremony.
Ehu Town is famous for its color printing prowess. It is currently home to over 400 package printing companies and more than 120 raw and auxiliary package printing materials distributors. Dozens of design companies are also based there. The town supports the complete printing industry chain. At present, the annual production capacity of the local package printing industry is over RMB 5 billion (735 million USD). JTIPPC has an investment of RMB 800 million (118 million USD), with a total construction area of 180,000 square meters. It is the largest package printing trade market in east China.
