at Sign UK/Digital Expo 2003
Sign UK/Digital Expo 2003 proved to be a great success for leading digital inkjet inks and media manufacturer Lyson, and its subsidiary Tiara Systems. Lyson's recently launched Continuous Ink System (CIS) for the sublimation market attracted strong interest and sales at the show. Tiara Systems successfully launched its new Tiara Opal II range of wide-format digital inkjet printers impressing visitors with the capabilities of the new machines, and in addition, the company managed to secure a number of orders for the Tiara range.
"This year's show successfully illustrated that the large format market has finally come of age and there was a good balance of visitors ranging from litho printers just converting to sublimation to companies printing small promotional items, and banner and flag printers," says Simon Guest, marketing manager at Lyson. "The exhibition was an excellent opportunity for Lyson to see many of its customers and meet new prospects, as well as demonstrate its comprehensive range of products. We were extremely pleased with both the quality and quantity of visitors to the stand."
Says Shaun Holdom, Tiara sales manager, "Tiara Systems attracted a large number of visitors looking to buy their first solvent machine, with interest in the whole range of Tiara printers from the Opal 46 to the new Tiara Opal II range. We are delighted with the sales secured at the show and are planning to hold a series of open houses around the country to follow on from this success, the first of which is to be held at Victory Designs in Sheffield on 18 & 19 June 2003."
Lyson's Sublimation range of inks was particularly well received, with the successful appointment a new distributor for this range at the show. Visitors to the stand were impressed with the colour gamut and vividness of colours produced on fabric samples using Lyson Sublimation inks running on a Mimaki JV4. The recently launched CIS for the sublimation market also generated a considerable amount of interest and sales.
Interest was also high in the Lyson graphics range of products. The new Photochrome pigment inks designed for the Epson Ultrachrome 7600, 9600 and 10600 printers impressed visitors with the vibrant colours. The display life of the inks has not been compromised in order to achieve an increased colour range and the inks do not require changing over of black inks when switching from fine art and matt-type papers, making considerable inks savings for customers. The NovaJet starter kit for the Encad Pro 500, 600, 630 and 700 printers also proved popular, with the ability to use chip-free cartridges and buy bulk ink, without compromising on quality offering excellent cost benefits to the user.
