Qwikprint signs for Gronhi press

Trade and commercial printer Qwikprint aims to diversify its product range following the purchase of a Hans Gronhi GH525 B3 offset automated press at Ipex.

The five-colour press has been supplied by UK agent Printers Superstore (6/D542-E530) and once installed at Qwikprint's site in Liverpool, it will replace two two-colour Heidelberg presses.

Ian Waller, managing director at the five-staff, family-run printer, said he had been looking for a four-colour machine and had been very impressed by the GH525 press.

"The price was good and I felt very comfortable dealing with Printers Superstore. I could see the benefits of the machine as it had a good level of features.

"It will speed up production and help us to diversify. It will revolutionise the company and enable us to produce a better standard of work."

Qwikprint will run the press alcohol free and Waller said the machine's low-power requirements would also help reduce the company's environmental impact.

Printers Superstore joint managing director Graham Moorby said Hans Gronhi customers benefited from a faster return on investment thanks to the Chinese press manufacturer's low prices compared with its rivals.

He added: "Ipex has been really good so far. Our main aim is to get the brand out there and there's no other manufacturer with the same spread of presses.

"The B3 sector is really busy and people have been targeting us at Ipex because of this."

Moorby added that, while the business has had conversations with Qwikprint previously, the company had decided to take the plunge only after viewing the press at Ipex.
