Belgian printer Artoos has bought the Speedmaster XL75-5+L off Heidelberg's stand in Hall 8.
The five-colour XL is configured with Inpress Control, which the company said would help it to meet ISO 12647 requirements, and Autoplate XL plate changing to reduce makeready times, as much of the firm's work is for run lengths between 200 and 1,000.
Artoos will run the press with reduced alcohol, water-cooled peripherals, inkLine automatic inkfeed, filtration and CleanStar, which was announced at Ipex 2010 and reduces powder consumption by 80%.
The XL75 replaces a CD 74-5 and Artoos expects it to be 50% more productive than its predecessor.
Artoos technical director Filiip Coosemans said "This is our first XL 75. It has a similar technical build to the CD but it will boost our productivity.
"You have to be the best, most disciplined company and to invest to remain at the top."
The company offers a complete end-to-end marcomms service, from design through to printing and finishing, and offers digital, web and sheetfed at its plant on the outskirts of Brussels.
