HP presents super-wide format digital systems

HP will showcase a selection of its portfolio of large to super-wide format digital printing systems on its stand (hall B2, stand 120) at FESPA in Munich, Germany.

The company's Application City will comprise several distinct areas, which reflect the market demands for key sign and display print applications, and HP will run themed live jobs and demonstrations, as well as show applications.

Application areas to be featured comprise packaging and POP, banners and flags, interior decoration, billboards and posters and vehicle wraps.

HP will also demonstrate systems that utilise latex technology for the increasing environmental developments in sign and display printing.

In addition to its latest products, HP will show Smartstream Designer 4.0 software that processes data for variable data printing (VDP) for wide-format localised applications.

VDP offers electronic collation (the sequential printing of graphics for a specific destination) and versioning (tailoring graphics for a region or venue).

Creating jobs with templates and fixed data or variable text and image elements for merging with data lists can lead to time and cost savings, as well as increased versatility.

HP's Print Care programme, which is said to enable customers to gain uptime and achieve virtually continuous printing by providing diagnostic and print quality-assistance tools, will also be shown on the stand.

Other products on the stand will include the Designjet L25500 printer, which can provide low-maintenance printing of a range of applications - from indoor point-of-purchase displays, exhibition graphics and interior decor (such as wall murals and fabrics) to outdoor banners, bus shelters and vehicle wraps.

The HP Scitex FB7500 printer will also feature on the stand.

It is said to provide high print speeds and standard three-quarter automation, while the HP Scitex XP5300 printer, designed for high-speed, high-volume print, offers a combination of print speeds and UV inks.

The HP Scitex XP2750 printer that will be on show is a 3.2m wide-format UV ink printer with a new integrated flatbed module for print output up to 635dpi x 800dpi (1,270dpi x 1,600dpi apparent) on flexible and rigid media, said HP.

With a maximum speed of 110m2/h, the printer is suitable for high-volume production with flexibility of output.
