Dexter Graphics liquidated, 22 staff made redundant

Kent printer Dexter Graphics has gone into liquidation, with 22 staff being made redundant.

According to joint liquidator Steve Ryman of Shipleys, there is no chance of a sale as a going concern, however he said there had been a large amount of interest in the Dartford-based company's assets.

Staff at the £5m-turnover company were made redundant a week before the creditors meeting on 4 June, at which point Dexter Graphics was officially put into liquidation.

Ryman said: "We cannot discuss specific offers, but there has been interest in the company assets. We are trying to realise the best value for the creditors."

A new company, Dexter Communications, was registered at the end of March with Dexter Graphics director Roy Risley appointed as director on 11 May. The company has the same address as Dexter Graphics.

It had been speculated that Risley would pre-pack the business, however Ryman told PrintWeek that this was not the case.

  Risley was unavailable for comment.

Dexter Graphics handled offset litho and digital printing. Its clients included art galleries and businesses. It offered pre-press and design, through to printing, finishing and mailing.
