Hewlett-Packard (HP) has introduced the Designjet 510 series, which is claimed to be the company's most affordable stand-alone printer for small studios that print technical drawings in-house.
The Designjet 510 is said to build on HP's Designjet 500 Plus large format printer.
The 510 series includes features such as HP-GL/2 in-printer processing technology, which is claimed to enable up to four-times faster processing than before.
The standard file format language developed by HP for computer-aided design (Cad) applications eliminates printing delays by freeing up computer resources and minimising network traffic.
At the same time, HP's Instant Printing Utility 1.0 lets users print HP-GL/2 files by simply pressing a button.
With Original HP printing supplies, this printing system delivers sharp black and white and colour drawings with fine lines as thin as 0.07mm.
As part of a continuous effort to streamline large-format printing, the HP Instant Printing Utility 1.0 lets users create, store and reprint Cad projects without reconfiguring settings.
The HP Designjet 510 series enables users to print D/A1-sized line drawings, plans, schematics or maps on a variety of HP and other large-format printing materials in as little as 55 seconds.
Cad users can view their work and present or make changes in real-time.
The 510 offers a four-color, high-resolution (2400 x 1200 optimised dpi) printing system that delivers fine line quality and high accuracy (+/-0.2 per cent) and processes complex files with its expanded 160MB of memory, which can be upgraded to 416MB.
The HP Designjet 510 supports more than 50 Original HP large-format printing materials designed together with HP pigment and dye inks.
