主题：眼中的世界——荷兰文学创作与翻译基金会于2006年北京国际图书博览会期间演讲及新书首发式介绍
活动介绍：荷兰文学创作与翻译基金会的这次的北京之行，是去年该基金会参加中国国际规模图书博览的良好继续，也是中荷两国文化交流的大事。在本次图书博览会期间，基金会不仅带来了优秀的荷兰文学作品(包括小说，非小说以及儿童文学等等)，还请来了几本即将要在中国出版的图书作者，同中国的广大文学爱好者们亲自进行交流。演讲的主要内容包括创作目的介绍，创作背景的介绍以及讲述创作轶事等等。在这次活动中，《火与文明》的作者约翰·古德斯布洛姆以及《千万不要与大脚女人结婚》的作者米尼克·斯希珀还将进行新书介绍以及签名发售活动。同时，我们还邀请了广东花城出版社的副社长秦颖和山东教育出版社的刘辉对另外两本即将要在中国出版的新书进行介绍。这两本书分别是：《世界的渊源：关于女人性器官的真相与神话》和《为什么随着年龄的增长时间过得越来越快——记忆如何塑造我们的过去》。此外，基金会的会长亨克·普罗佩尔还将向大家介绍另外一些期待进入中国大众文化生活的优秀的荷兰文学作品。在演讲活动结束之后，基金会还将举行小型酒会，答谢到场的媒体记者以及广大文学爱好者，再次为荷兰文学的推广提供一个交流的平台。

It exists to promote foreign interest in Dutch literature. It maintains contacts with many international publishers and has a stand at every major international book fair, including the Frankfurt Book Fair, the London Book Fair and the Children’s Book Fair in Bologna.

Title: Eyes on the World: The Foundation for the Production and Translation of Dutch Literature (NLPVF)
Abstract: This second visit to Beijing by the NLPVF follows on from its attendance at the 2005 Beijing International Book Fair and marks a highpoint in Chinese-Dutch cultural relations. At this year’s Fair, the NLPVF will present the best of Dutch literature, including novels, non-fiction titles and children’s books. Several authors of books already published in China will also be in Beijing to present their work. The main focus of the presentations will be their purpose in writing their books and the background to their work. Johan Goudsblom, author of Fire and Civilization and Mineke Schipper, author of Never Marry a Woman with Big Feet will introduce their new books and sign copies of their books for Chinese readers. We will also invite Ying Qin, Vice-Proprieter of Flower City Publishing House of Guangdong and Hui Liu from Shandong Education Press to give a short introduction of the other two books, The Origin of the World and Why Life Speeds up As You Get Older. Henk Pr?pper, Managing Director of the NLPVF, will introduce some other outstanding Dutch literary works that are expected to become part of Chinese cultural life. Following these presentations, the NLPVF will hold a small reception to express its appreciation to the journalists and book-lovers who attend the event. Meeting informally over drinks will give participants a chance to exchange their knowledge of and ideas about Dutch literature.

内容简介: 本书介绍了利玛窦的人生，可以说他的人生是近代早期欧洲文化与中国文化的交流的见证。书中运用娴熟的语言技巧和引人入胜的描写从宗教、自然科学的角度对中国和欧洲近代的宗教、自然科学进行了阐述。书中首次谈及利玛窦的科学研究，谈到中西方不同文化在宗教和哲学的相互作用和影响，比如提到了徐光启。书中主要的材料取自利玛窦的史料和私人信件，作者常常通过这些阐述了她个人的看法。
作者简介: 米凯拉·冯塔娜(Michela Fontana)1950年生于米兰 ,学过数学，投身记者生涯20余年，曾在意大利各大新闻媒体机构供职。曾两次获得记者克拉克斯克(Glaxo)奖。
1990-1991年 获得麻省理工学院奈特科学新闻学学者奖；
1990年在罗马编辑托马斯·鲍久(Tomaso Poggio)的《视觉机器》；
还曾为1988年由乔尔乔·斯泰勒(Giorgio Strehler)执导的米兰小剧场写剧本；1996年出版《计算过程》一书，次年再版，此书还于1998年荣获国际科普“比雷利奖”；
此外书作者还曾为多家出版社的顾问。
1992-1996年曾在意大利驻渥太华使馆科技处工作四年。
1999-2003年在北京供职于意大利媒体，并从那时起开始了对利玛窦的研究工作。
作者目前居住地为瑞士的日内瓦。

Title: Presentation of her book “MATTEO RICCI. UN GESUITA ALLA CORTE DEI MING”

Introduction of the book: Following the life of an exceptional individual, the Jesuit Matteo Ricci, widely known in China as “Li Madou”, this book widens into an examination of the epochal encounter of Chinese and European cultures in early modern times.
By contextualizing the human and religious adventure of Ricci within the late Ming passion for exotica, ‘practical studies’ and the natural sciences, the author introduces in accessible language solid and fascinating information on early modern Chinese and European sciences and societies, and their interaction through historical actors.
This biography is the first to stress Ricci’s scientific work and the work of the most important converts, such as Xu Guangxi, and it documents aspects of the history of science in China and the West as well as the different cultural approaches towards religious and philosophical issues. The chief sources of this biography are Ricci’s own history of the Chinese mission and his letters. The author often quotes Ricci’s words and some of the letters in which he describes his emotions.
Introduction of the author: Michela Fontana , born in Milano in 1950, has a background in pure Mathematics. More then twenty years ago she devoted herself to science journalism. She contributed to the main Italian newsmagazines and daily newspapers. She has won two times the Glaxo prize for science journalism.
She was a recipient of the Knight Science Journalism Fellowships, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge USA in 1990-1991
She has been editor of the book La macchina per la visione, by Tomaso Poggio, Theoria, Rome, 1990. She wrote a script for the Piccolo Teatro Studio di Milano performed in 1988 under the direction of Giorgio Strehler. Author of the book Percorsi calcolati Edizioni Microart’s-Le Mani, Recco, March 1996, second edition March 1997. The book won the Pirelli International Award for popularization of science in 1998.
She has been consultant for different publishers.
She spent four years (1992-96 ) in Ottawa Canada as Scientific Attachéof the Embassy of Italy
She lived four years in Beijing, China (1999-2003) where she conducted researches on Ricci’s work and contributed to Italian newspapers. Presently she lives in Geneva Switzerland
